UEFA to investigate Ibrahimovic's connection with the bookmaker

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has appointed an inspector to investigate the Swedish and Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This was reported by the UEFA press service.
Ibrahimovic is suspected of financial interest and equity ownership of the Bethard bookmaker.
The Swede became a co-owner of Bethard through his company Unknown AB in 2018. Ibrahimovic's company owns 10% of the shares of Gameday Group PLC, which is the sole shareholder of Bethard. According to the rules of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA, players with financial motives in betting companies are not allowed to compete.
The European Championship will be held from June 11 to July 11. In March, Ibrahimovic took part in two World Cup qualifiers - 2022, playing for the national team for the first time since 2016. In total, the 39-year-old striker has 118 matches for the national team, 62 goals and 19 assists.
Ibrahimovic has represented Milan since 2020, in the current season he has 25 matches, 17 goals and three assists. Throughout his career, Ibrahimovic won the championships of the Netherlands (Ajax), Italy (Inter, Milan), Spain (Barcelona), France (PSG), cups and super cups of these countries. In England, the striker played for Manchester United, in which he won the Europa League.
